Minidoka County VINELink Coverage
Idaho VINE through VINELink is a free notification and custody-status service. It can carry local jail information and IDOC movement or status events. It is not a Minidoka County release archive. Adult Minidoka arrestees are normally housed at the Mini-Cassia Criminal Justice Center in Burley, while people committed on state felony cases may be held by the Idaho Department of Correction elsewhere in Idaho.
Those two paths must stay separate. Select the Mini-Cassia county custody source for a local booking. Select IDOC for a state resident or client. A person may leave the Mini-Cassia roster because of transfer to IDOC, ICE, the U.S. Marshals Service, or another jail. A movement alert may mark that change without proving community release. Federal Bureau of Prisons records do not belong to VINE; use the federal locator when a federal commitment is known.
Search Minidoka County VINELink Records
Begin with the exact legal name and the likely custody system. Same-name matches are common enough that the name alone is weak proof. Compare the date of birth or age, agency, offender or booking identifier, location, and custody source. The complete process is:
- Open VINELink and select Idaho.
- Choose the custody or offender search tied to Mini-Cassia or IDOC.
- Enter the exact surname and given name, or the offered ID number.
- Compare age or birth date, ID, location, and source on every possible match.
- Open the verified record and read its status and event details.
- Confirm a release or transfer with the agency that supplied the data.
If the name is absent, try a supported spelling variation and a known identifier. A blank result can stem from lag, limited feed coverage, transfer, aging, or a restricted record. Minidoka VINELink Release Fields
The live interface may change labels, but its core value is linking one person to a status, source, and event. Read each field in context. Do not turn a movement event into a release claim.

A released or out-of-custody status supports the fact that the supplying source no longer reports custody. It may not state the final release reason or receiving authority. Register Minidoka County Release Alerts
Registration starts only after the correct person and source have been verified. That protects against alerts for someone with the same name. Choose only the events offered in the live record, since available options can differ by source.
- Open the matched record and choose its registration or notification option.
- Select phone call, text, email, or a combination.
- Enter the contact destination and choose offered release or custody-change events.
- Create the requested PIN for telephone alerts.
- Complete the confirmation prompt and save the registration.
- Keep the PIN so calls can be acknowledged or repeated notices stopped.

Separate Minidoka VINE Feeds
County and IDOC VINE feeds are operationally distinct. During an IDOC feed suspension in 2022, county searches, registrations, and notifications continued. That history shows why choosing “Idaho” does not finish the source check. A Minidoka County booking should be matched to the Mini-Cassia feed. A state resident or client belongs under IDOC.
This split also changes what the next verification step should be. For Mini-Cassia, compare the booking number and call the center. Ask whether the person left for the community or another custodian. For IDOC, compare the IDOC number, sentencing county, and the terms In custody, In community, or Discharged. Open the detail record for Released to Supervision and Sentence Satisfaction Date. These dates measure different events.
Note: Selecting the wrong source may produce no result even when a valid custody record exists in the other Idaho feed.
Confirm Minidoka VINELink Releases
Confirmation depends on the last custodian. For a county-jail event, Mini-Cassia staff can confirm current status, and a focused custody-release entry can document actual time, disposition, and transfer destination when releasable. Recent Bookings can recover a booking ID, charge context, and photo, but it has no release fields.
For an IDOC event, search the state record. In community means the person is outside an IDOC prison under probation or parole, while Discharged [date] marks the end of IDOC jurisdiction. Neither label should be replaced by a generic release date. If the VINE event conflicts with the record, compare update times and identifiers, then ask the supplying agency to reconcile it.

VINE is strongest before and near the expected event. It is not a certified historical record. Save the event details needed for personal follow-up, then obtain the agency record when the exact outcome matters.
Minidoka VINELink Source Checks
Three records may be needed after an alert. The jail record answers when the person physically left Mini-Cassia and whether the disposition was community release or transfer. The court record explains the legal order behind bond, dismissal, time served, probation, or commitment. IDOC records answer state custody and supervision questions. These sources should be reconciled, not treated as duplicates.
Start with the event label and time shown in VINE. Compare the name, birth information, booking or offender number, and custody source. Then check when the agency record was updated. A court may order release before the jail completes identity checks, warrants, detainers, paperwork, property return, and transport. A VINE notice can arrive at another point. Different times do not prove an error when each source measures a different event.
For a focused Mini-Cassia request, ask for the booking sheet and custody-release entry, including actual date and time, disposition, community release or transfer, and receiving agency if releasable. Supply the arrest range, booking number, Minidoka agency, and case number. If the record uses a code, request its public legend or plain meaning. This creates a durable record after a live VINE event ages out.
Federal and immigration paths remain outside this state notification workflow. A known BOP commitment belongs in the federal Inmate Locator. ICE custody requires its locator and agency follow-up. USMS contract custody may require the federal docket, housing jail, and later BOP data. A blank Idaho VINE result should never rule out those custodians.
